What is Making a Career Change?

This is a Career Coaching program that provides guidance, feedback, and support when attempting to switch careers (or industries).

The program includes multiple resources such as 1-on-1 coaching sessions, the Keirsey™ Career Temperament, and homework assignments in-between sessions to engage you in activities to advance your objectives.

Working 1-on-1 with a Career Coach offers practical guidance, emotional support, and a greater sense of accountability in making a successful career change.

What is the Process and Timeline?

The first step in the process is an introductory questionnaire to learn more about your career change needs. Upon completion, a 20-minute virtual intake session is scheduled to connect with your Career Coach.

Keirsey Career Temperament

After the questionnaire and intake phone call, it’s time for you to complete the Keirsey™ Career Temperament. This popular online-based career assessment offers valuable personality-based insights when attempting to pick a new career path or industry. You will receive instructions for completing the Keirsey at that time.

Career Coaching Sessions

The program includes three (3) 50-min coaching sessions with your Career Coach. Sessions are discreet and confidential, 1-on-1 conversations.

Generally recommended is a one-week interval between each session. This may go faster or slower, based on your needs and availability.

Homework

Between sessions you may be prompted to complete voluntary ‘homework’ such as worksheets, mental exercises, and online research to spur along your objectives.

Post Program Messaging

There’s a 30-day window after your final session for post program messaging with your Career Coach to send messages for additional support as needed.

The Keirsey™ Career Temperament is a popular career assessment tool which provides suggested career matches, based on research surveys conducted across a wide spectrum of industries.

This report is well known for assisting career professionals, job seekers, and students in the career exploration process. The findings and takeaways are helpful for aligning your career choices with your innate strengths and preferences.

How Are Coaching Sessions Delivered?

Career Coaching sessions are offered both in person and virtually.

In-Person: Meet face-to-face with your Career Coach at 10 S. Riverside Plaza, #875, Chicago, IL 60606, in the West Loop. Enjoy private, one-on-one coaching in a professional office setting with hands-on collaboration and real-time feedback. The location offers easy access by Metra (near Ogilvie and Union Station).

Virtual: Connect with your Career Coach from anywhere in the U.S. via MS Teams. Sessions are recorded, and you receive a full video recording to review and reflect on your conversations. Virtual coaching provides the same personalized guidance as in person, with flexible scheduling and no commute required.

Between sessions, you can communicate directly with your Career Coach through written messages in the dedicated client portal.

How Long Are Sessions?

Making a Career Change sessions are 50 minutes each.

What are the Exercises, Guides, and Worksheets?

Between sessions, you may be assigned voluntary “homework” which involves completing various DIY exercises and worksheets from our collection.

By participating in this program you have full access to our entire library of exercises, guides, and worksheets which are available for download in the client portal.
